Dorothy Jeanne Bybee, 76, of Smithton, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 9, 2017, surrounded by her family in Sedalia.
She was born October 5, 1941, in Brookfield, the daughter of Lyle and Doris Shelby.
On August 15, 1964, in Brookfield, she was united in marriage to Charles E. Bybee, who survives of the home.
Dorothy was a member of the Smithton United Methodist Church. She worked as a beautician. Her hobbies included crocheting, fishing and her love of collecting redbirds. She also volunteered her time as a Girl Scout leader. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be remembered most for her unconditional love.
In addition to her husband of 53 years, she is survived by three children, Terrinda Miller (Darren) of Smithton, Eddie Bybee (Dawn) of Smithton, Christie Baker (Brad) of Smithton; seven grandchildren, Bryan, Shelbi, Lyla, Chase, Tami, Jonathan and Morgan; six great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Susie Harms; and sister-in-law, Linda Knox.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 13, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jason Veale officiating.
Casket bearers will be Jonathan Southard, Brad Baker, Darren Miller, Francis Schultz, Thomas Ingram, and Brandon Aubrey.
Burial will be in the Smithton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
