Robert Douglas “Doug” Hayworth

Robert Douglas “Doug” Hayworth, 53, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday morning, July 1, 2017, at his sister’s home near Florence surrounded by his family, after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer found in May.

He was born September 17, 1963, in Sedalia, son of Robert Eugene “Bob” Hayworth and Florence F. Lindsay Hayworth.

Doug graduated from Smithton High School in 1983. He worked at the Ewing Vocational Center for twenty years. Doug enjoyed life! He liked going to parades, working with weed eaters, and watching people run chain saws. He loved to do puzzle books, listen to music of all kinds, and play with his cats. Doug was always happy and never met a stranger.

Surviving are his mother, Florence Hayworth, of the home; three siblings, Mike Hayworth, of Sedalia, Lisa Hayworth, of Florence, and Jim Hayworth, of Sedalia; and four nieces and nephews, Robert Schlobohm, Gina Schlobohm, Wendy Hayworth and James Q. Clark.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Hayworth.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Jeff Page officiating.

Casket bearers will be Russell Hayworth, Steve Hayworth, Donnie Hayworth, Leonard Phillips, Dennis Lee Mullins and Jake Thomas.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
