Betty Jean Guth, 87, of Sedalia, died June 24, 2023.
Durward Franklin Guth, 87, of Sedalia, died August 24, 2020.
Betty was born July 5, 1935, in Honey Creek, IA, daughter of Lee R. Stoner and Edna C. (Frazier) Stoner.
Durward was born December 16, 1932, in Peoria, IL, son of Chris D. Guth and Marie (Kamm) Guth.
Betty was a professor at the University of Central Missouri and retired as Professor Emeritus of Special Education.
Durward was a mental health counselor in Sedalia.
They were members of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Sedalia. They enjoyed living in their country home, raising cattle and traveling.
Surviving are a sister-in-law, Martha Stoner; a niece, Kimberly Stoner, and Kim’s daughter, Lesley Stoner Sparks, all of Denver, CO.
They were preceded in death by their parents; Betty’s sister, Millie Joan Stoner Allen, and brothers, Russell and Robert Stoner.
Graveside services for Betty and Durward will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2023, at Highland Sacred Gardens, with Leora Bremer officiating.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Immanuel United Church of Christ or Open Door Food Pantry.
