Dwight Leo Wiskur, 75, of Sedalia, passed away Friday, July 5, 2024.
He was born December 5, 1948, in Warrensburg, son of Robert Leo and Wanda Arlene (Farnsworth) Wiskur.
On May 22, 1971, in Sedalia, he was married to Deanne A. (Conn).
Dwight served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a machine operator for Alcan Cable and as a welder for the railroad.
Dwight was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. He is known for making wooden bowls. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and attending his grandkids’ ball games. He loved his cat, PJ.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Deanne, of the home; two children, Jenette Witting (Jim), of Lee’s Summit, and Derek Wiskur (Lisa), of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Trenton (Kat), Haley, Dax, and Chase; six siblings, Robert Wiskur, Doyle Wiskur, Van Wiskur, Roger Wiskur, Sonya Walter, and Deawn Wiskur Hersini; and a sister-in-law, Sue Dedrick.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Sheryl Richardson.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Flat Creek Cemetery.
Honorary bearers will be Terry Swopes, George Marcum, Richard Dedrick, Russell Dedrick, and Carroll Howard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Flat Creek Baptist Church.
