Earl Douglas Davis

Earl Douglas Davis, 93, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 at his home.

He was born May 26, 1925 in Hughesville, MO, a son of Earl H. and Pansey Lena (Shull) Davis.  On July 6, 1946 in Sedalia, MO, he married Sarah I. Cornelius and was married for 52 years before she preceded him in death on July 22, 1998.

Douglas was a member of East Sedalia Baptist Church.  He served in the Untied States Army 1

st

Infantry Division in the five major battles of WWII.  He received five major battle stars, one bronze for Gallantry in Action and a Purple Heart for wounded in action.  Douglas worked heavy construction as an asphalt paver most of his adult life.

Survivors include one daughter, Tena Jo Micek (Michael) of Warrensburg, MO; two grandsons, Adam Lutjen (Terri Dale) of Oak Grove, MO, Neil Lutjen (Betty) of Sedalia, MO; five great-grandchildren; Jay Lutjen (Jessica), Britney Brandkamp (Stephen), Spencer Lutjen, Hayden Lutjen, Avery Lutjen; three great-great-grandchildren, Konner Ray, Kennedy Lutjen, Emmi Lou Brandkamp; one brother, Jacob Davis (Betty) of Sedalia, MO.

In addition to both of his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by six siblings, Roy Davis, Viola Bolch, Earlene Stevens, Francis Davis, Ernest Davis and Ray Davis.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia.

Pallbearers will be Neil Lutjen, Adam Lutjen, Jay Lutjen, Spencer Lutjen, Hayden Lutjen and Michael Micek.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
