Edna E. Strelow

Edna Emma Strelow, 91, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

Edna was born December 22, 1927, in Mora, a daughter of Martin and Agnes (Rosebrock) Monsees. On November 28, 1954, in Cole Camp, she married Harry Lee Mueller, who preceded her in death on January 13, 1970.  Then on November 14, 1980, in Sedalia, she married William August Strelow and he preceded her in death on April 4, 2007.

Edna was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cole Camp. She was currently a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where she served in various capacities. Edna formerly belonged to the Jolly Elders. She enjoyed playing cards, doing crafts and spending time with family and friends. She will be remembered for being giving and loving, always putting others before herself.

Survivors include three children, Dennis Mueller (Debbie) of Sedalia, Karen Bussell of Cole Camp, Debbie Wilken (Bill) of Cole Camp; five grandchildren, Jeremy, Bobby, Nick, Kim and Kay; five great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence Monsees and Ralph Monsees; and two sisters, Verna Shernaman and Lydia Monsees.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2019, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, with Pastor Andrew Tessone officiating.

Casket bearers will be Bill Wilken, Dalton Neas, Bobby Bussell, Rodney Collins, Alan Dotson and Sage Harlan.

Burial will be held at Highland Sacred Gardens.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Friday at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Our Savior Lutheran Church Radio Ministry.
