Eldon Clarence Leiter, Sr., 85, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015, at his home.
He was born May 21, 1929, in Sedalia, son of Clarence H. and Gladys Roberts Leiter. On May 12, 1957, in Sedalia, he was married to Elenora B. Wolfel, who survives of the home.
Mr. Leiter was a farmer and retired from Farm Credit Services. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ and the West Central Archaeological Society. He had served on the board for the Children’s Therapy Center. He enjoyed traveling associated with archeology and photography. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in Germany.
In addition to his wife of 57 years, survivors include three children, Kendle Leiter (Becky), Eldon Clarence “Clancy” Leiter Jr., and Katherine Dority (Rick), all of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Jacob Dority, Rachel Dority, Noah Leiter and Callie Sue Leiter; and a brother-in-law, Dorsey Wallenmeyer, of Ferguson, MO.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Wallenmeyer.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Dr. Steve Buchholz officiating.
Casket bearers will be Noah Leiter, Tony Cazares, Matthew Brandkamp, Gary Rex Walters, Phil Gerlt and Tom Ragan.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
