Ella Dean Brereton Imhauser, 88, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017, with family around her.
She was born December 29, 1928, at the family farmhouse north of Smithton, the first child of Everett and Mona Embree Brereton. She attended school at Arator and Smithton High, and earned an education degree from Missouri Valley College, where she was active in music.
She married Philip W. Imhauser, Jr. in June 1953; they farmed in the Houstonia area until 1975.
Ella Dean was a member of First Baptist Church Sedalia, and had been a member of several Baptist churches over the years after being baptized at a young age in Shaver Creek.
She taught school for 32 years, 25 of which were in the Sedalia School District.
Besides teaching, she owned and ran the Imhauser Family Century Farm since 1976.
She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Templemire; son, Bill Imhauser and wife Becky; son, Bret Imhauser and wife Marie; daughter, Cheri Cunningham and husband Ron; daughter, Kathy Meeks and husband Loren; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Glenn Sparks officiating.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
