Emma Flora Brockschmidt
Emma Flora Brockschmidt, 99, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.
She was born April 10, 1918, in Ionia, daughter of Conrad and Lillie Schnakenberg. On April 28, 1918, she was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lincoln, MO, where she was later confirmed.
On January 10, 1964, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Albert A. Brockschmidt, who preceded her in death on April 2, 1979.
Mrs. Brockschmidt worked for Lamy Manufacturing Company for many years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where she was active in St. Paul’s Quilters. Her hobbies included gardening, quilting and playing cards.
Surviving are her stepdaughter, Erma Lee Davis (Dennis); stepdaughter-in-law, Wilma Brockschmidt; three stepgrandchildren, Marsha Fassold (Randy), Deborah Wilken (Charlie), and Steven Davis (Kim); ten step-great-grandchildren; eight step-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a stepson, Marvin Brockschmidt; stepdaughter, Mildred Ashbrook; stepgrandson, David Brockschmidt; brother, Martin Schnakenberg; and four sisters, Hilda Schnakenberg, Paula Wischmeier, Augusta Wheeler and Arline Monsees.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Jeremy Freeman officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the church.
