Erma Lee Davis, 81, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

She was born September 17, 1941 in Mora, MO, a daughter of Albert and Mathilda (Ehlers) Brockschmidt. On October 25, 1959 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sedalia, she married the love of her life Dennis Ray Davis who survives of the home.

Erma was baptized on September 28, 1941 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cole Camp. She was confirmed on April 3, 1955 by Rev. Walter Strickert and her confirmation verse was John 10:27-28. Erma was a 1959 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School, and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sedalia, where she served as the assistant financial secretary and was also a faithful member of the LWML. In her younger years she volunteered at St. Paul’s School and later she worked at Interstate Studios. She enjoyed coloring, reading, playing cards, crafting and quilting. Erma was an avid sports fan always cheering for the Kansas City Royals, Chiefs, and anything her grandchildren were playing. Erma’s greatest joys were her family especially the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren

Survivors include her husband Dennis of 63 years; one daughter, Deborah Wilken (Charles) of Gravette, AR; one son, Steven Davis (Kim) of Sedalia, MO; six grandchildren, Sarah Formen (Chris), Christopher Wilken (Jeana), Brian Conner, Rachel Walters (Joseph), Aaron Anderson, and Ryan Anderson; eight great-grandchildren, Jackson, Conner, Caleb, Arthur, Ashlynn, Brody, Devyn, and Kaija.

Erma was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Emma Brockschmidt; one granddaughter, Stephanie Conner; two siblings, Marvin Brockschmidt, and Mildred Ashbrook.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sedalia on Friday, January 20, 2023. Memorial services will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Jeremy Freeman officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or the Bothwell Regional Health Center Foundation Cardiac Fund. Arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia, MO.
