Ernest W. Kowalski

Ernest Walter Kowalski, 82, of Otterville, MO, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at his home. 

He was born on February 16, 1942 in Sedalia, MO, a son of Ernest Walter Brown and Mary Paxton. On January 26, 1963 in Sedalia, he married Sharon June Wasson who preceded him in death on November 20, 1994. 

Ernie worked for many years at Rival Manufacturing in Sedalia. He enjoyed going to rummage sales, taking care of his animals and he was always willing to take-in any kind of animal. 

Survivors include four children, Velma Bozarth, Robert Kowalski, Sherry Kowalski all of Otterville, Karen Swope and her husband William of Hughesville; three brothers, Henry Kowalski, Joey Kowalski, and Bobby Kowalski all of Sedalia; two sisters, Florence Hayworth of Beaman, MO, and Sissy Rico of Kansas City, MO; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. 

Ernie was preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife Sharon; two brothers, Ernest Eugene Brown, and Ricky Lindsey and one great-grandson, Xavier Harrington. 

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Harold Nicks officiating. Pallbearers will be Ernest Bozarth, Johnny Bozarth, David Fuget, Robbie Farr, Wayne Oswald, and Jeff Ward. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hopewell Cemetery and may be left in care of the funeral home.
