Evelyn Marcelle Templemire, 92, passed away February 27, 2025, at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove.
She was born on March 22, 1932, a daughter of Everett and Mona Brereton. On September 28, 1952, she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Donald Louis Templemire, in Harrison, AR. Together, they built a life filled with love and devotion.
Evelyn was baptized at the age of six at Providence Baptist Church and later became an active member of First Baptist Church in Sedalia. She was a proud 1950 graduate of Smithton High School.
Evelyn worked at C.W. Flowers while her children were young. She later worked at Grants until its closing and then at Montgomery Ward until it, too, closed. She was a dedicated homemaker who found joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She had a passion for gardening, quilting, and playing cards at the Smithton Senior Center. She also loved watching sports and cheering on her favorite teams.
Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda (Tommy) Summers; one son, Rusty Templemire; four grandchildren, Rachel, Renee, Michaela, and Matt; and three great-grandchildren; Addisyn, Jack, and Oliver. She was preceded in death by her only sibling, Ella Dean Imhauser.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Sedalia. Memorial services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church with Pastor Jeremiah Greever, officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association. Inurnment will be at New Lebanon Cemetery.
