Evelyn J. “Punk” Woolery, 77, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Bothwell Regional Health Center, surrounded by her family.
Born May 13, 1947, in Sedalia, she was one of four children of James B. and Evelyn M. (West) Spratley.
On April 25, 1968, in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Harry Lee Woolery, who preceded her in death on May 2, 1998.
Evelyn owned her own businesses and eventually went into home healthcare, providing peace and comfort for end-of-life patients. She loved family, friends, God, and country. She recently said her hobby was “love.” She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her sons, Harry Dean Woolery (Jamee), of Independence, and David Allen Woolery (Amy), of Sedalia. She was “Granny” to seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Allen “Butch” Spratley (Margie) and John Spratley (Sue); a sister, Kathern Warren-Kintiaos; special nieces, Shawn Woolery and Leslie Stone; and her lifelong best friend, Patty Grafrath (Jim).
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Lynn Cunningham.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Heckart Funeral Home, where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m.
Entombment will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
