Florence “Joanne” McFail, 70, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.
She was born June 24, 1953, in Athens, OH, a daughter of the late James R. and Frances Pauline (Capps) Douglas. On August 14, 1993, in La Monte, she married Robert Glen McFail who preceded her in death on October 11, 2003.
Joanne was a 1971 graduate of Stover High School.
She was proud to have traveled to each of the continental United States during her lifetime.
Family was central to her life. She was the rock of the family and was always available to share her wisdom.
Joanne enjoyed Folger’s Classic Roast with cream and sugar, playing board games and puzzles.
Survivors include a daughter, Kristy White (Mark), of Sedalia; a step-son, Robert McFail (Tyla), of PA; two grandchildren, Ty Rayl (Courtney Johnson), of Sedalia, and Zachary Rayl (Katilyn), of Overland Park, KS; three great-grandchildren, Braydon Rayl, Olivia Rayl and Henry Rayl; seven siblings, Edgar Douglas, of Sedalia, James Douglas (Sally), of Florence, Kay Rogers, of Stover, Steve Douglas, of Cole Camp, Tina Downs, of Sedalia, Tammy Mills (Paul), of Windsor and Shawna Comfort (John), of Sedalia; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Joanne was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Busing.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am Friday, March 15, 2024 at Crown Hill Cemetery.
