Franklin Delano Maltsbarger, 85, of Sedalia, passed away April 13, 2018.
He was born November 18, 1932, in Cole Camp, MO, the son of John and Flossie (Ransdall) Maltsbarger.
On December 11, 1948, in Lincoln, he was united in marriage to Ruby McGrady by the Rev. Steve Gardner. She preceded him in death on October 26, 2013. He was also preceded in death by six siblings; one son, Donald Maltsbarger; and one step-granddaughter, Amie Cornine.
He is survived by one sister, Ruth Gerken Wood, of Yucaipa, CA; two daughters, Alice Cornine and her husband, Gale, of Nelson, MO, and Jean Reed and her husband, Bill, of rural Sedalia; grandchildren, Etta Koehne, Richard Maltsbarger, Robert Maltsbarger, Tara Wirt, Ryland Maltsbarger, Dawn Maltsbarger, Stetson Reed and Kelli Maltsbarger; step-grandchildren, Melissa Coleman and Brian Koehne; and great-grandchildren, Allison and Derek, Annabelle and Jackson, Cordelia and Conner, Ryder and Gracye, Colby, Amelia and Charlotte, Harper Layne, and Russell and Gaylen.
Frank was the hardest working man ever. He literally never stopped. He worked at Meadow Gold Dairy before starting his own gravel hauling business which soon developed into dozing and digging basements for many, many people in the area. He also farmed and raised cattle. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Frank served for many years on the Green Ridge School Board and was a lifetime member of New Bethel United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Chris Harper officiating.
Pallbearers will be Richard, Robert and Ryland Maltsbarger; Matt Wirt, Stetson Reed and Derek Phillips.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
