Gale L. (Auer) Williams, 67, of Marshall, MO, died Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Big Bend Retreat in Slater, MO.

Born July 3, 1955, in Marshall, MO, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Curtis Auer and Oma Ailene (Aubrey) Auer, who survives of the home. Gale lived in Saline County all her life. She had attended Santa Fe High School through 1972 but was a graduate from Slater High School in 1973. In June 1972, she married Doug Coleman, and they later divorced. On August 13, 1988, she married Kenneth E. Williams, Sr., who survives of the home.

Gale worked at several businesses in Saline County through the years including The Slater News-Rustler, Gibson Discount Store, Missouri Valley College, Saline County Sheriff’s Department, but was remembered for her years of service as a school cook: Marshall School District-14 years, Miami School District-three years and St. Peter’s School-seven years. Gale and Kenny primarily attended North Street Methodist Church in Marshall.

Gale had a very friendly, outgoing personality. She always had a smile for everyone and enjoyed a little teasing and a good joke. Gale enjoyed family, crocheting, bowling, softball, fishing, traveling, and camping. She also enjoyed taking pictures of everybody near her, and everything around her, for memories of each day.

Her memory will forever be in the hearts and minds of her husband, “Kenny” Williams, of the home; her son, Shawn Coleman (Bobbie Jo), of Latham, MO; one brother, Joe A. Auer, of Blackburn, MO; two step-children, Teresa Ramsdill (Loren) and Kenneth E. Williams, II (Greg), of Sweet Springs, MO; seven grandchildren, Sierra (Coleman) Beavers (Austin) and Shelby Coleman, of St. Louis, MO, Avery Beeler USMC, Madisyn Beeler, of Slater, MO, Brittney Simmons, Sierra Simmons and Alivia Walbourn, of Sweet Springs, MO; five great-grandchildren; as well as other extended family.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00pm -5:00pm Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the Recreation Building, Marshall Church of the Nazarene, 782 West North Street, Marshall, with Pastor Ralph Varner and Pastor Clark Armstrong officiating.

A meal will be provided for those in attendance.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Heckart Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
