Gary Lewis Pate, 68, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Fair View Nursing Home.
He was born September 19, 1949, in Sedalia, the son of William Lewis Pate and Doris Juanita Ulmer Pate.
Gary was a hard worker and worked as a truck driver. He enjoyed motorcycles, racing, sitting in his shop and having a good time. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He held a B.S. degree in Business from University of Kansas. He attended LifePointe Church.
Surviving are three children, Jason Pate, of Sedalia, Krista Driskell (James), of Sedalia, and Danielle Pate, of Jefferson City; seven grandchildren, Aliya, Ethyn, Brian, Andrew, Emily, Jordan and Joseph; his mother, Juanita Pate, of Sedalia; a sister, Rita Siegel, of Lee’s Summit; and a brother, Mark Pate, of Sedalia.
He was preceded in death by his father; his wife, Diane; and his sister, Connie Pate Potter.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 1, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Pastor Rusty Thomas officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Navy and VFW Post 2591.
