Gary Wayne Moore, 65, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday morning, April 7, 2018, at his home.
He was born July 6, 1952, in Sedalia, son of Dee Moore and Shirley Mae (Donath) Moore.
Gary was liked by everyone. He never knew a stranger and was always concerned about others. His hobbies included listening to music of all kinds, playing on the computer, fishing and playing pool. He had worked for the sheltered workshop, Ewing Vocational Center, and Brick Front Grill. He also volunteered with the Sedalia Parks Department. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a brother, David Moore, of Smithton; a sister, Judy Moore, of Sedalia; sister-in-law, Tracey Moore; three nieces, Lori, Lesa and Alia; a nephew, Lincoln; twelve great nieces and nephews who called him “Uncle Grandpa;” and three great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Calvin Pritchard officiating.
Casket bearers will be David Moore, Lincoln Moore, Dugan Layton, Jason Moore, Kylen Moore and Alex Henderson.
Honorary bearers will be Donald Moore, Jim Cline and Kalix Byrd.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family requests no flowers and that memorials be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in care of the funeral home.
