George Trigg Callis

George Trigg Callis of Hallsville, Missouri passed away on March 21, 2016, in Pilot Grove, Missouri.

Trigg was born on November 28, 1932, in Sedalia, Missouri, the son of George Elgin and Joann Trigg Callis.

He attended Bothwell School near Sedalia, South and West Grade Schools in Jefferson City, Missouri, Jefferson Junior High and graduated from Jefferson City Senior High School in 1950.

He was confirmed in 1944 at the First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson City.

Trigg graduated from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri in 1954 and entered the United States Army. He served honorably and was discharged in Fort Carson, Colorado in 1956.

Trigg was married in 1955 to Betty Ann Robinson of Boonville, Missouri, who preceded him in death in June of 1974. He married Dixie Lee Crocker, of Boonville, in 1980, who died in June of 1996. He is survived by four children, Steven Trigg Callis, of Columbia, Georgann Elgin Callis, of Chicago, Illinois, Kim Crocker Harrison (Greg), of Jefferson City, and John Crocker (Beth), of Hallsville; four grandchildren, Maddie Callis, of New York City, New York, Brenden Harrison, of Jefferson City, Emma Crocker and Delaney Crocker, of Hallsville; one brother, James Callis, of Sedalia; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Joe Bruce Callis, of Bloomington, Illinois; and one niece, Camye Callis Gaspard, of Sedalia.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at Hughesville High Point Cemetery, near Hughesville, Missouri. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army and VFW Post 2591.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at Heckart Funeral Home.

Trigg chose cremation and his ashes will be enclosed in the family columbarium at High Point.

Memorials are suggested to the Camye Callis Gaspard Fund at Bothwell Regional Health Center or to the Bothwell Foundation Cancer Fund in honor and memory of Trigg.
