George William Brady, Jr. 93, of Sedalia, passed away Friday July 16, 2021, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was born April 28, 1928, in New Franklin, son of the late George William Brady Sr. and Cora A. (Busch) Brady. On June 24, 1951, in Sedalia, he married Marlene L. (Arnold).
George served his country in the US Army as a Military Police Sergeant.
He was a postal clerk at the Sedalia Post Office and a member of the American Postal Workers’ Union. He was also a member of East Sedalia Baptist Church and a past member of Show Me Crafters. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and crafting with Marlene. George could do just about anything and always put his family first.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Marlene; two children, Debbie (Bill) DeHaven and Jana (Daryl) McNew, all of Sedalia; five grandchildren, Michael DeHaven, Kevin DeHaven, Scott DeHaven, Jessica Sportsman and Katy Dominguez; and five great-grandchildren, Olivia, Kadin, Lyssa, Ava and Jordon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Cora DeWitt and Maurine Brady.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 2591 and US Army.
Pallbearers will be Bill DeHaven, Daryl McNew, Michael DeHaven, Kevin DeHaven, Scott DeHaven and Trey Sportsman.
Friends may pay their respects and sign the guestbook from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Heckart Funeral Home.
