Gloria Ann DeHaven, 86, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, March 22, 2021, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born August 16, 1934, in Sedalia, a daughter of the late John D. and Carmen (Hampton) Bettise. On August 16, 1953, in Sedalia, she was married to Willard E. “Bill” DeHaven, who survives.
Gloria was a 1953 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. Gloria worked in retail sales for C.W. Flowers and had also worked at Inter-State Studios, Third National Bank and managed Plaza West Apartments.
She was a former member of First Baptist Church.
Gloria enjoyed puzzles and playing cards with her family. She was kind, caring, loving and always there to help. She was the best wife, mom and grandma in the world.
In addition to her husband, Bill, she is survived by three children: Dawn DeHaven West (Rick), of Lake of the Ozarks, Bill DeHaven (Debbie), and Deanna Dodd (Stuart), all of Sedalia; eight grandchildren: Michael DeHaven, Brian Shull, Kevin DeHaven, Meghan Zeller, Josh Shull, Ashley Graff, Scott DeHaven and Jarrad Shull; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and one on the way.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Raymond Bettise; and a sister, Norma Crouch.
Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Heckart Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Graff officiating. Honorary bearers will be her grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
She looked forward to the Missouri State Fair every year and enjoyed working at the jewelry stand, therefore the family suggests memorial contributions to the Missouri State Fair Foundation.
