Gloria Jean French, 76, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at her home.
She was born July 3, 1941, in Clinton, the daughter of Ira William Hook and Eula Mae (Houk) Hook.
On August 18, 1960, in Marshall, she was married to Ira William “Bill” French, Jr. and he preceded her in death in 2001.
Gloria was an anchor for her family. She was supportive and always there. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, working crossword puzzles, and watching game shows and westerns. She worked for many years in nursing homes as a med tech.
Surviving are four children, Margie Loper (Wayne), of Hartville, Wesley Brian French, of Sedalia, Maureen Lynn Raisbek, of Billings, MT, and Ira William French III (Kim), of Concordia; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Lewis Hook, of Savannah, GA.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson; a granddaughter; two sisters, Ruby Cadman and Shyril Howard; and two brothers, Melvin and Kenneth Hook.
No services are planned at this time.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.
