Gordon Eric McFeders

Gordon Eric “Gordy” McFeders, 60, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was born August 26, 1963, in Sedalia, son of Ernest and JoAnn (Robinson) McFeders. He married Glinda Taylor and to this union were born two children, Jordan and Jada.

Gordon lived in Sedalia and attended CC Hubbard School until first grade. He was an athlete, and in his college years he played tackle for University of North Texas 1982-1985. During this time, he was mentored by Mean Joe Green and was scouted by the Chicago Bears.

He was a Seventh Day Adventist and an astute learner of the faith.

Gordon loved his family and was especially close to his grandmother, Beatrice Robinson. He will be remembered as a good person, always smiling, kind and easy-going.

Survivors include his former wife, Glinda McFeders, of Dallas, TX; two children, Jordan McFeders, of San Marcos, TX and Jada McFeders, of Dallas, TX; a sister, Kimberly McFeders Rose, of Lithonia, GA; a niece, Alexa’s Rose; a nephew, Harold Rose; three aunts, Cecile Robinson Holt (Gene), of Grand Prairie, TX, Judeth Robinson City, of Sedalia, and Connie Johnson, of St. Louis; and a host of cousins, including Daphne Holt Cassell, Dana Holt, Gordon Holt (Christi) and Mary Robinson Kimble; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his maternal grandparents, Julian and Beatrice Robinson; and his paternal grandmother, Dolly Johnson.

Reviewal will be 12:00 pm (noon) Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Heckart Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Those attending services are asked to wear a mask.
