Gregry Ramond Gasser, 70, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
He was born December 17, 1952, in Kirksville, a son of George Martin and Lillian Rae (Faulkenstein) Gasser. On August 9, 1980, in Sedalia, he was married to Tamara Kay Horttor.
He was raised in Potosi and graduated from Potosi High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in teaching from Truman State University in Kirksville.
He began his teaching career at Chilhowee High School and spent the next 30 years at Green Ridge High School. While at Green Ridge, he coached soccer, basketball, golf and served as a class sponsor in addition to teaching science, and also coached youth sports. He considered all students “his kids” and was well loved and respected.
He retired from Green Ridge High School in 2010 after teaching over 35 years.
Greg enjoyed raising cattle on his hobby farm, hunting and fishing.
Greg will be remembered as a happy and carefree man. He was a good listener, gave good advice and was always willing to help anyone.
Survivors include his wife and best friend, Tammy; three children, Gregry Ramond Gasser II (Crystal), of Farmington, Joshua Ramond Gasser (Cynthia Michelle), of Ozark, and Lindsy Nicole Glenn (Travis), of Sedalia; a brother, George Martin Gasser II (Robin), of Farmington; and four grandchildren, Jase Glenn, Harper Glenn, Emma Gasser and Gregry Gasser, III; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may pay their respects and sign the guestbook from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be 12:00 pm Friday, August 18, 2023 at Heckart Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Hankins officiating.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Gasser, Travis Glenn, Mark Forrest, Caleb Forrest, Matt Boyd and Jake Meyers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jase Glenn and Gary Lewis.
Visitation will be 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
