Hallye Jane Meisenheimer

Hallye Jane Meisenheimer, 91, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

She was born August 17, 1927, in Sedalia, daughter of Clarence Levi and Nadine Elizabeth (Smith) Wadleigh.

On October 17, 1959, in Sedalia, she married Herman Rudolph Meisenheimer, who died December 14, 2012.

On September 24, 2016, in Sedalia, she married Larry Gene Furnell, who survives.

Jane was a 1945 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. She worked in the Smithton School cafeteria for fourteen years and at State Fair Floral for sixteen years. She has been a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ for over fifty years, where she sang in the choir.

Jane was active in the community, volunteering for the Center for Human Services for over twenty years, in the Bothwell Regional Health Center gift shop, for Open Door and for RSVP. She was a member of Stoney Point and Flat Creek Extension Clubs. Her hobbies included cross stitch, playing Bingo and cards, and baking pies.

In addition to her husband, Larry Furnell, survivors include a son, Calvin Meisenheimer, of Bloomington, IN; a daughter, Bonni Lane, and her husband, Russell, of Smithton; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Ann Carver, and her husband, Matt, and Hallye Jo Lane; one great-granddaughter, Lane Annabelle Carver; two step-daughters, Terry Howe and Mary Jane Faaborg; four step-grandchildren; and a sister, Josephine Benson and her husband Terry; sister-in-law, Mary Meisenheimer; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Leora Bremer officiating.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Private entombment will be held.

Memorials are suggested to Immanuel United Church of Christ.
