Harold L. Woodall, 94, of Sedalia, passed away April 11, 2017, at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Warrensburg, Missouri.
He was born October 29, 1922, in Smithton, the son of Charles and Lurana Woodall.
His first marriage was to Esther Scott. On February 24, 1954, he married Mary Lou Blatterman-Hancock, who preceded him in death on December 23, 2013.
Mr. Woodall graduated from Smith-Cotton in 1940. He served in the U.S. Army, 1

Squadron-7
th
Cavalry Regiment, during WW II in the Pacific War Theater from December 22, 1942 to October 21, 1945. He was a charter life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591 and previously served on their Honor Guard detail.
Mr. Woodall retired after 37 years of working for the U.S. Post Office. He was previously an active member of the National Association of Letter Carriers 139 and received his 65 year pin in 2013. He has also been a member of Christ & Trinity Lutheran Church for over 60 years.
Survivors include six children: Laura (Woodall) Wilson and husband Larry, Charles Woodall and wife Cindy, Gail (Woodall) Walter and husband Mike, Linda (Hancock) Moore, Kristie (Hancock) Axton and Bob Hancock, plus 42 grand, great and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14, at Heckart Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, with one hour visitation prior to the funeral.
Casket bearers will be Mike and Adam Walter, Charles and Cade Woodall, Larry Wilson and Kip Brown.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with full military honors provided by the U.S. Army and V.F.W. Post 2591.
Harold’s family would like to sincerely thank the staff at the Missouri Veterans Home, Warrensburg, for all the loving care they provided their father and to his Christ and Trinity Lutheran Church family for always remembering him.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to any of the following: Missouri Veteran’s Home, Christ and Trinity Lutheran Church or Alzheimer’s Association.
