Harvey W. Goalder

Harvey Wray Goalder, 98, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023, at his home.

He was born September 18, 1925, in Madison, son of Edward Green Goalder and Lyda Jane (Shoemaker) Goalder.

On June 16, 1950, in Sedalia, he married Doris Dean (Ransdell), who preceded him in death on December 22, 2020.

Harvey worked in window manufacturing in California, before moving to Missouri upon retirement. Then he worked in maintenance at Striped College School. Harvey was devoted to his family, especially his wife of 70 years, Doris. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, hand-held games, and playing the lottery.

He is survived by two sons, David Goalder (Cindy) and Steven Goalder (Marsha), all of Sedalia; 12 grandchildren, Deana Goalder, John Goalder (Lauren), Steve Goalder (Janel), Brian Goalder (Laura), Priscilla Shelledy (Jake), Bob Goalder (Christy), Keith Cook (Chelsey), Nick Goalder (Shawnelle), Steven Zeiler (Tammy), Matthew Goalder (Tiffany), Jennifer Maples (Scott) and Stephanie Martens; 39 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and two daughters-in-law, Linda Goalder and Jean Goalder.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Harvey Dean Goalder and Tim Goalder; two sisters, Nadine Goalder and Mildred Calhoun; and four brothers, Kenneth, Raymond, James and Richard Goalder.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Heckart Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Honorary bearers will be grandsons: John, Steve, Brian, Bob, Keith, Nick, Steven, Matthew, Jake and Scott.

Inurnment will be at a later date in Crown Hill Cemetery.
