Ivan Dale Laster, Sr. was born in Marshall, MO, on March 13, 1951 and entered into eternal rest on March 9, 2013.
He was the son of Logan Laster and Mady Isabelle Williams Hayes. He was the third of eight boys, along with five girls. He attended Lincoln Elementary School and Marshall High school, in Marshall, MO.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Alder and Glenda; one brother, Logan Jr.
Ivan was married to Janis Toliver, who survives of the home. In addition to his wife, Janis, he is survived by three sons, Ivan Laster, Jr. (Heather), of Sedalia, Travis Laster (Mary), of Sparta, MO, and Ryan Weisner, of Sedalia, MO; a daughter, Danielle Hurley, of Sedalia.
He also leaves five brothers, Fred Hayes (Ruby), of Marshall, Herbert Cooper, Robert Laster, of Denver, CO, Wilson Laster, of Las Vegas, NV, and Bernard Laster (Sidney), of St. Louis, MO; and three sisters, Carmella Jackson, of Junction City, KS, Lois Laster and Brenda Laster, of Marshall, MO. He also leaves grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Handy Chapel in Marshall, MO.
Honorary bearers will be Brian Wilson, Trevor Hampton, Wally George, Bobby Stephenson, Layman Wolfe and George Biggs.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Marshall.
