Jacqueline N. “Jackie” Leiter, 82, of Sedalia, passed away in her home, Wednesday, August 4, 2021, surrounded by her family.
She was born July 26, 1939, in Minneapolis, KS, the oldest of six children born to the late Eugene and Julia (Bussart) Rodewald. On July 5, 1957, in Sedalia, she married Thomas L. Leiter, who survives of the home.
Jackie was a 1957 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. She was an active member of Faith Fellowship and has served as a church pianist in past years.
She had many interests including flower gardening, swimming, vacationing and her pets. After her mother passed away, Jackie became the matriarch of the family. She was an excellent cook and known for her divinity. Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday. Jackie was an accomplished musician and played piano, organ and harp.
Jackie was a Christian who loved her Lord. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and also loved her church family.
In addition to her husband, Thomas, she is survived by three children, Clint Leiter (Jenny), of Sedalia, Sandra Knop, of Camdenton, and Daniel Leiter (Michele), of Coal City, IL; four siblings, Steve Rodewald, of Houston, TX, Cynthia Layton, of Oak Grove, Chuck Rodewald, of Warsaw, and Greg Rodewald, of Oklahoma City, OK; ten grandchildren, Tony Leiter, Angela Leiter, Rebecca Paxton, Domenic Knop, Danielle Sharp, Nicole Paulsen, Ashley Valdivia, Heather Leiter, Shawna McCord and Hannah Leiter; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Rodewald.
Funeral service will be at noon, Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Faith Fellowship with the Pastor Clint Leiter and Pastor John Breshears officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until service time 12:00 p.m. at the church.
