James R. “Jim” Borchers, 72, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Country Club Rehab and Healthcare Center in Warrensburg.
He was born September 18, 1952, in Sedalia, son of the late Richard L. and Audrey Berniece (Richardson) Borchers.
Jim was a 1970 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He furthered his education at State Fair Community College, earning an associate’s degree in 1972, and then at Central Missouri State University, graduating in 1974. He spent his career in sales at Lek-Tro-Mek.
Jim was an avid reader and a passionate fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. He will be fondly remembered by those who knew him for his great sense of humor.
He is survived by his sister, Kathy Embree (Dave), of Sedalia; nephews, Stephen Embree (Amanda) and Adam Embree (Shara), all of Olathe, KS; and five great-nieces and nephews, Kira, Julian, Elim, Dax, and Ava.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 28, 2025 at Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 10:40 am at Heckart Funeral Home before processing to the cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association or Open Door Ministries, in care of Heckart Funeral Home.
