James Edman “Jim” Curry, 79, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Belton Regional Hospital.
He was born November 24, 1943, in Sedalia, son of Edman Wallace and Ruth Marian Moon Curry.
On June 15, 1968, at First Baptist Church in Sedalia, he married Jeanne Gottschalk.
Jim worked in construction, and as a meat cutter at Hughesville Locker. He was a member of Georgetown United Methodist Church and the Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR, and making stained glass. He always raised a big garden and enjoyed selling his produce. He will be remembered as a caring man.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Jeanne, of the home; a son, Justin Curry, of Sedalia; three granddaughters, Sophia, Mikayla and Kaylee; a nephew, Duaine Sielert, of Las Vegas, NM; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Betty Ellen Sielert.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2023, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Pastor Kenny Cripe officiating.
Casket bearers will be Mike Walter, Greg Boswell, Dale Wilson, Ron Acklin and Dan Gottschalk.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
