James Eldon Bacon, 79, of Warsaw, formerly of Sedalia, died Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Vidant Heart Institute in Greenville, N.C.
He was born November 6, 1934, in Dotham, MO, son of Ed and Zula Mae Clark Bacon. On July 17, 1971, in St. Joseph, he married Elizabeth A. Couchman-Summers, who died May 12, 2011.
Jim retired as a heavy equipment mechanic from Dean Machinery and later worked at Howard Construction before starting his own business, Specialized Repair Service. He was a former member of the Sunrise Optimist and enjoyed woodworking, carpentry and gardening. He was a Baptist and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are a son, Leonard Bacon (Lynn); three daughters, Patricia Lefevers, Anna Jarvis (Shannon), and Diane Flavan; one brother, Wilbur Dobbs; a sister, Nancy Aspey; 13 grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be in Agency Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.
