James “Jim” Earl Clark, 71, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015, at the Veterans Hospital, in Columbia, MO.

Jim was born October 28, 1944, in Pettis County, son of Elbert Eugene and Helen Elizabeth Thurman Clark.

On June 10, 1967, in Sedalia, he was married to Janet Gehlken.

Jim worked as a lab tech for Alcan Cable. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, 40&8 Voiture 333, VFW, and Vietnam Veterans of Pettis County.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children; Valerie Miller (Randy), of Lowry City, Shawn Clark (Vickey), of Sedalia, and Katrina Bell (Chris), of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Rob Anstine (Michelle), and Jamie (Victoria), Steven, and Mason Clark; one great-granddaughter, Annabelle; several step-great grandchildren; one brother, Charles Clark, of Palmer, AK; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Robert, Ronald and Alan Clark; and two sisters, Betty Baker and Willie Sue Clark.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Craig Bowen officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Marines and VFW Post 2591. Rites will also be conducted by the Patriot Guard and 40 & 8.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Fairfax, Wayne Woolery, Wayne Tucker, Jim Gaertner, Fred Pfieffer and Karl Anstine.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services Tuesday at Heckart Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
