James R. Esselman, 76, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, September 2, 2024 at his home.
He was born July 11, 1948, in St. Mary, MO, a son of the late Elvis J. and Rosalie Gertrude (Beinlien) Esselman. In 1971, in Tuscumbia, he married Linda Wolfe, and to this union were born two sons.
James served his country honorably in the US Army. He worked for James H. Drew Construction and later worked as a lineman at COMO Electric.
He was Catholic. James enjoyed spending time at Truman Lake and the Osage River fishing, camping and lake homes. He also enjoyed mowing and watching NASCAR, football and baseball.
Survivors include two sons, James Esselman, Jr. (Emily), of Smithton, and Dustin Esselman, of Sedalia; a brother, Bill Esselman (Patty), of Indianapolis, IN; three grandchildren, Zack, Amelia and Lillian Esselman; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald J. and Carolyn Esselman.
A celebration of life is planned in Spring 2025.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Heckart Funeral Home.
