James Paul Mittenburg, 53, of Pilot Grove, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2024 following a two year battle with cancer, at the Harry S. Truman Veteran's Hospital in Columbia, MO.
Paul was born on September 27, 1971 in Sedalia, MO, a son of William Joe and Kathleen Ann (Karigan) Mittenburg. On June 25, 1998 he married Cabrina Lynn Miller who survives of the home.
Paul was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sedalia and he was a 1989 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He worked for many years in Industrial Maintenance for ATS (Advanced Technology Services). Paul enjoyed fishing, shooting guns, working on small engines and grilling / smoking meat for family gatherings. He was a big kid at heart and always loved doing anything fun especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Cabrina; three children, Justin Miller (Tayler) of Pilot Grove, Sara Clardy (Curtis) of Pilot Grove, Emily Mittenburg of Boonville; six grandchildren, Rylee Miller, Emberly Clardy, LilliAnn Clardy, Rueger Miller, Daphne Clardy, and River Miller; three siblings, William "Bruce" Mittenburg of Lincoln, Pam Stratton (Donnie) of Blue Springs, and Patrick Mittenburg of Sedalia.
Paul was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with military honors provided by the Sedaila VFW Post 2591. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Donor's Choice.
