Janet L. Isbell

Janet L. Isbell, 61, of Erwin, TN, formerly of Sedalia, passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.

Janet was born on March 30, 1963, in Sedalia, the daughter of the late Virgil E. and Daisy M. (Cunningham) Morris. She was first married to John Petty, who preceded her in death, and later to Robert Isbell, who also preceded her in death.

Raised in Sedalia, Janet was a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. She lived in Sedalia until relocating to Erwin, TN, in 2023.

She is survived by her four children: Richard Morris (Heather) of Indiana, John Michael Petty (Rachel) of Sedalia, Steven Isbell (Amber Adams) of East Prairie, MO, and Shawn Isbell (Tina Smith) of Erwin, TN; a brother, Edwin E. “Eddie” Morris (Jeannie Holmes) of Pleasant Hill; sister-in-law, Gladys Ridge of Tipton; and her beloved grandchildren, Emmett, Ember, Phillip, Mason, Emeri Skye, Xander Robert, and Zoe Annalise.

In addition to her husbands and parents, Janet was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Morris, and a sister-in-law, Sheila Morris.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Heckart Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am.

Burial will take place at Highland Sacred Gardens.

Janet loved cats, and in her memory, the family suggests donations to the Sedalia Animal Shelter’s "Sophie Fund," with checks payable to the fund in care of Heckart Funeral Home.
