Janet S. Ross

Janet Sue Ross, 77, of Sedalia, passed away Friday, August 2, 2024, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

She was born October 12, 1946, in Sedalia, a daughter of the late James Kenneth and Violet (Homan) Randall. On February 22, 1963, in Sedalia, she married Donald Ray Ross, who preceded her in death October 31, 1989.

Janet was a member of Emmet Avenue Baptist Church.

She worked at Jupiter, Kmart and later in the proof department at Inter-State Studio.

Janet was a great cook. She enjoyed going to the movies, going to the fair, and out to eat. She loved her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids, and her cat, Jasmine.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna Everist (Andrew), of Overland Park, KS; two grandsons, Steven Ross (Rhianna), and Mitchell Everist; a granddaughter, Jenna Everist; two great-grandchildren, Liam Ross and Scarlett Ross; a sister, Pat Shafer, of Alva, OK; and a brother, Jim Randall, of Sedalia.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sandy Randall and Judy Meadows.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Heckart Funeral Home, where funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. John Barrett officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jim Randall, Joe Kowalski, Bill Winfrey, Charlie Ross and Chuckie Meadows.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Emmet Avenue Baptist Church.
