Jeanette Marie Wooters, 84, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022, at her home.
She was born July 31, 1937, in Polk County, Iowa, daughter of Edmund L.D. and Pearl Julia Ann (Warren) Boatwright.
On June 26, 1957, in Sedalia, she married Walter Merritt Wooters, who preceded her in death on February 9, 2001.
Jeanette worked for a time at Wheel Inn Drive-In, Primo Pants, Lamy’s and Inter-State Studios, but was primarily a homemaker.
She made her profession of faith at age twenty and was a member of New Life Apostolic Church in Dresden.
Jeanette enjoyed sewing, all types of needlework, and quilting, and had made quilts for each of her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, and tending her houseplants.
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life and they affectionately called her “Greemo.” She loved it when they were around and enjoyed keeping a bowl of candy for them.
Surviving are three children, Janice Zingre (Stephen) of La Monte, Kathy Sheldahl (Rick) of Battlefield, and Paul Wooters of Sedalia; six grandchildren, Leah Russell, Stephen “Anthony” Zingre, Amy Bernagozzi, Bethany Faught, Kara Richards and Dana Sheldahl; seventeen great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna Brown (Darrell) of Versailles; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Burgess; and nephew, Kenny Burgess.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2022, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Pastor Stephen Zingre officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Casket bearers will be Dustin Russell, Adam Faught, Stephen “Anthony” Zingre, Malachi Russell, Zane Faught and Kevin McCoy. Rick Sheldahl will be an honorary bearer.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.
