Jerry A. “Bob” Morris, Sr., 86, of Sedalia, died Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.
He was born March 7, 1931, in Seymour, MO, son of Gurnie Clee Morris and Effie May (Goss) Morris.
On October 22, 1949, in Harrison, AR, he was married to Beverly May Sublette, who preceded him in death on October 1, 2016.
Jerry Bob grew up in East Sedalia. He graduated from Smith-Cotton High School and worked for many years at the railroad shops. He retired as a Sedalia City Fireman. He and Beverly spent many years traveling and winters in Texas with friends and family. Jerry Bob loved to garden and had beautiful flower beds. He also loved to fish and was an artist with many paintings. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sedalia. He was a 32

degree Master Mason in Shrine-Provost. He loved his family and many friends.
Surviving are two sons, Dr. Jerry A. Morris Jr. (Terri), of Nevada, MO, and Jeffery L. Morris (Susan), of Sedalia; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gurnie C. Morris Jr.; and four sisters, Vide Gentges, Sara Gentges, Berniece Sublette and Arvala Odle.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Glenn Sparks officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Private burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
