Jerry Leonard Swope, 52, of Hughesville, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at his home.
He was born in Sedalia on October 10, 1965, to John Leonard Swope and Pamela (Waterfield) Swope.
Jerry worked for Tyson Foods in Sedalia for over twenty years.
He loved to cook, fish, hunt, ride four wheelers, and eat good food.
Jerry is survived by his father, John Swope and stepmother Dorothy of Hughesville; sister, Kim Chitwood Swope and husband Bill of Sweet Springs; brother, William Swope and wife Karen of Hughesville; daughter, Eva Shaw Swope and three other children; seventeen grandchildren; nine nieces; many great nephews and nieces; and his girlfriend, Sherry Kowalski
He is preceded in death by his mother, Pamela Waterfield Swope.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Rev. Donnie Hayworth officiating.
Casket bearers will be William Swope, Jeff Ward, Wayne Oswald, Missy Swope, Kevin Jones, and Stephen Iliff.
Honorary bearers will be Bobby Kowalski, Bill Chitwood, and Neal Shoemaker.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Mt. Herman Cemetery.
