Jo Ann “Jody” Neher

Jo Ann “Jody” Neher, 89, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023.

She was born September 22, 1933, in Sedalia, a daughter of the late E.O. “Jack” and G. Arline (Laipple) Pasley.

Jody was a lifelong resident of Sedalia and a 1951 graduate of Smith Cotton High School. She worked at Metropolitan Life Insurance for several years. She then worked in the billing department at Bothwell Regional Health Center from where she retired.

She was an active member of First Christian Church. Jody was involved with the Scott Joplin board where she served as president for several years. She also volunteered at Open Door Food Pantry. She enjoyed making afghans and giving them away.

Jody will be remembered as thoughtful, loving, giving and for her warm smile.

Survivors include her sister, Linda Clift (Lyle), of Pueblo, CO; niece, Dana Coty; nephew, Lyle Clift II; great-niece Danielle Coty; three great-nephews Christopher Clift, Brandon Clift and Douglas Coty; and a great-great nephew Albert Ramos.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday, September 28, 2023 at First Christian Church with Rev. Dr. Chad McMullin officiating.

Visitation will be 10:00 am until service time at the church.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to First Christian Church in care of Heckart Funeral Home.
