John K. Fravel, 81, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025 at The Living Center in Marshall.
He was born July 8, 1943, a son of the late Keith and Lucille (Bilek) Fravel. On June 12, 1965, in Cresco, IA, he married the love of his life, Ann K. Greenslade, who preceded him in death on September 21, 2024.
John was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Throughout his life, John dedicated himself to farming. He also cultivated a passion for collecting John Deere tractors and enjoyed attending antique tractor shows. In his younger years, John was a licensed private pilot, creating cherished memories through family trips across the country, from California to Iowa and beyond.
Known for his engaging conversations on politics, his quick wit, and his talent for storytelling, John often shared laughter and camaraderie with the Papa Jake’s crew. Above all, he treasured his family, and the time spent together.
Survivors include three children, Darrin Fravel, of Wheeling, MO, Lori Williams, of Overland Park, KS, and Jesse Fravel, of Sedalia; a brother, Leonard Fravel (Dorette), of Cresco, IA; four grandchildren, Tiffany Ruhmann (John), Brooke Williams, Alyssa Fravel, and Jake Williams; two great-grandchildren, Lucy Ruhmann and Chase Ruhmann; and a grand dog, Daisy May.
Visitation will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, Friday, May 16, 2025 at 11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 1015 W. 16th St., Sedalia, MO 65301.
