John S. Zuber, Jr.

John Stanley Zuber, Jr., 74, of Lincoln, MO, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was born May 13, 1945, in Kansas City, MO, son of John Stanley Zuber and Ida Colleen (Admire) Zuber Timms.

On November 21, 1964, in Independence, MO, he married Connie Marie (Kester).

John served in the United States Marine Reserves. He worked as a die maker for Union Wire Rope in Kansas City.

John was a creative, talented craftsman. He was a member of the Kansas City Woodworkers Association and was a master tree grafter. John was an avid bow hunter and fisherman, who also enjoyed coaching soccer.  His legacy lies with his children and grandchildren’s love of him and the out-of-doors.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Connie, of the home; two children, Joni Cooper (Brian), of Pensacola, FL, and Michael Zuber (Lianne), of Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren, Hannah Eller (Micah), Mikala Zuber, Abigail Cooper, Sarah Sherrouse (John), XoeAnne Zuber and Jessika Zuber; three sisters, Dixie Haas, Pat Benton (Ralph), and Sue McCollum (Richard); and a brother, Kris Timms (Dana).

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Daniel Timms; and a sister, Barbara Maxwell.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Black Oak Community Church in Lincoln, MO. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the family home following the service.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home, Sedalia, MO.
