Johnnie Warren Robinson, 85, of Smithton, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021, at Tipton Oak Manor.
He was born December 21, 1935, in West Alton, MO, son of Loren Earl and Haideen Maggie (Whittaker) Robinson.
On December 31, 1958, in West Ramstein, Germany, he married Traute Inge (Duddek), who preceded him in death on January 26, 2019.
Johnnie started working at the young age of 13. He enlisted in the United States Army and served four years. Then he joined the Air Force and served 20 years. He worked on all of the missile silos in Missouri and in safety coordination. He had a farm at one time and worked for Howard Construction for five years. He was also a self-employed welder. He was proud of his welding and was good at it. He liked to tinker and tell stories, especially his military stories. Johnnie was a fun-loving man who was devoted to his wife.
Surviving are a daughter, Heidi Pais; and two granddaughters, Mandy and Angel.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Robinson.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2021, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, with Rev. Jason Veale officiating.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice, in care of Heckart Funeral Home.
