In Loving Memory…
Bethel Joy Shirley, 77, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013, at her home.
She was born July 6, 1936, in California, MO, daughter of William Armon and Eddyth Carol Kesterson Allee. On March 25, 1960, in Lee’s Summit, she married Wesley L. Shirley, who survives of the home.
Mrs. Shirley retired from J.A. Lamy Manufacturing. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading and crossword puzzles.
In addition to her husband of 53 years, survivors include a daughter, Linda Shirley, of Sedalia; and siblings, June Frontera, Dixie Rowan, Mae Meyer, Jack Allee and Irvin Allee, all of Sedalia, and Glen Allee, of Otterville; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Logan, of Lee’s Summit; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Ray Allee, Paul Allee, Fay Mullins and Cleo Anderson; a brother-in-law, Norman Logan; two nieces, Connie Shivers and Carol Cooper; and two nephews, John Dale Ralston and Barry Mullins.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bethany Baptist Church, with the Rev. Craig Bowen officiating.
Casket bearers will be Jerry Mullins, Danny Dunn, Richard Young, Russ Hall, David Meyer, John Houston and Bob James.
Honorary bearers will be Paul Meyer, Jim Cooper, Dale Wooderson and Tom Krahenbuhl.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Heckart Funeral Home.
