Joyce Jarrett

Joyce Lee (Sandy) Jarrett, 64, of Jefferson City, died Monday, July 23, 2018, at her home.

She was born June 20, 1954, in Sedalia, daughter of Ray Lewis Sandy and Mary J. (Hodler) Sandy.

Joyce worked as an LPN for Lenoir Woods in Columbia. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sedalia. Joyce loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. She will be remembered as a caring and generous lady.

Surviving are two children, Christine Knipp, of Joplin, and Stephanie Woolery, of Eldon; six grandchildren, Brittany, Andrea, Morgan, Colby, Cayce and Charlotte; one great-granddaughter, Della; a sister, Sally Crews, of Sedalia; and a brother, John Sandy (Carol), of Sedalia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Alex; and three sisters, Pamela Sandy, Sue Mittenburg and Mary Sandy.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Pastor Rusty Thomas officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Inurnment will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery columbarium.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, a charity which Joyce supported.
