Julia Deane “Judy” Harrell, 88, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
She was born November 3, 1936, in Knob Noster, daughter of the late Henry and Daisy Blaine. On July 2, 1954, in Sedalia, she married Lester “Les” Harrell, Jr., who survives.
Judy was a 1954 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. She was of the Lutheran faith.
She worked at her father’s mill, Coca-Cola, Holiday Inn, and the License Bureau.
Judy enjoyed painting scenery. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, her grand dog Gracie, and traveling with her husband, Les, when he was an on-scene reporter.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Brenda Buckner (Terry); a son, Lester “Sid” Harrell, III, all of Sedalia; a grandson, Leslie Harrell (Tiffany), of Greenwood, MO; two granddaughters, Ja-Nae Buckner (Andres), of Sedalia, and Ca-Teesia Spencer, of Houston, TX; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren with one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Marvin Blaine, and a nephew, James Blaine.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2025, at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Boys and Girls Club in care of Heckart Funeral Home.
