Julia Lee Scott (Barnes), 85, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at Good Samaritan Care Center in Cole Camp.
She was born July 5, 1932, in Osceola, MO, daughter of Marion Barnes and Marie Rodabaugh Barnes. Julia was a 1950 graduate of Osceola High School and attended Draughon Business College in Springfield, MO. She also received her hairdressing certificate from Sedalia School of Hairdressing.
Julia retired from the Pettis County Health Center, after working over 20 years in the WIC department. She also held positions at the Sedalia Water Department, Coca-Cola, and Trans Central Suppliers earlier in her career. Julia was a member of the First Christian Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and dedicated her life to caring for her daughter, Sondra.
Surviving are four children, Paula Fischer (Dan), of Sedalia, Patrick Ferguson (Connie), of Sedalia, Bradley Kent Ferguson (Betty), of Colorado Springs, CO, and Shauna Ferguson, of Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her brother, Charles Barnes, of Harrisonville, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Sondra Ferguson; and her brother, Hal Barnes.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 30, at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia, with Jeff Page officiating.
Casket bearers will be Patrick Ferguson, Bradley Kent Ferguson, Dan Fischer, Adam Ferguson, Jeremy Pyle, Matt Soldan, and David Penner.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Pettis County Health Center Friends, or First Christian Church.
