Katherine L. Rudd

Katherine Lynn Rudd, 67, of Knob Noster, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

She was born August 2, 1950, in Sedalia, daughter of Chester W. Kerr and Helen B. (Lewis) Kerr.

She was married to George W. Monteer, who preceded her in death in 1983. Later she married Dale W. Rudd, who preceded her in death in 2013.

Mrs. Rudd worked as a paraprofessional at Knob Noster School District from 1992 to 2017. Her hobbies included gardening, reading and square dancing. She loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Katherine always put others first and would do anything for anybody. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include three children, Tonya Burke and her husband, Jevon, of Warrensburg, Kelly Lairmore, of Columbia, and Lyle Rudd, of Knob Noster; six grandchildren, Chris, Felicia, Nikole, J.T., Kaleb and Blake; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Judy Schick, of Sedalia.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Kerr.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Jeff Page officiating.

Casket bearers will be Christopher West, Jevon Burke, Nicco Martinez, Doug Weller, Eric Harvey and Dan Richards.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 13, at Heckart Funeral Home.
