Kenneth L. Shaw

Kenneth Lee Shaw, 72, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018, at his home.

He was born November 13, 1945, in Indianapolis, IN, son of Chalmers R. “Jake” and Audrey (Campbell) Shaw. He was raised alongside his aunts and uncles by his grandparents, Columbus Ray and Allie Beatrice Shaw. He was very close to his Uncles Ronnie and Joe, and Aunt Jean, who were like siblings.

Kenny moved to Missouri in 1979. He worked on the construction of the first McDonald’s in Sedalia and put the first drive-thru in at the location on South Limit. That is where he met Debbie.

On February 9, 1980, in Sedalia, he married Debbie R. (Moon).

Kenny did construction and tile setting most of his life. He owned his own tile business for about twenty years. He enjoyed cars, fishing, car racing and the Indy 500, country music, football, playing five straight, and the casino. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Braxton. He loved spending time with Brad and sharing his love of cars, motorcycles, go carts, dune buggies and watching him play sports. He enjoyed vacations in Florida, Myrtle Beach and Hawaii. His favorite dog was named Chase. Since going on dialysis in January 2012 he made many friends at DCI.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie, of the home; four sons, Cary (Anna), of Indianapolis, Curt (Jennifer), of Borden, IN, Kenny Jr. of Indianapolis, and Brad (Kady), of Sedalia; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 21, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Chaplain Bill Douglas officiating.

Casket bearers will be Tom Broaddus, Chad Broaddus, Dustin Broaddus, Zach Amos, Michael Howell and Andy Rozier.

Entombment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 20, at Heckart Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the Sedalia Animal Shelter.
